Alessio Zanelli is an Italian poet who writes in English and whose work has appeared in over 180 literary journals from 16 countries including, in the USA: Artemis, California Quarterly, The Caribbean Writer, Chiron Review, The Clarion Review, Concho River Review, Eclectica, Hawai'i Pacific Review, The Heartland Review, Italian Americana, Italian Poetry Review, Lit Magazine, The Lyric, Main Street Rag, North Dakota QuarterlyPacific Review, Poetica Magazine, Potomac Review, San Pedro River Review, Sanskrit, Santa Clara Review, Sierra Nevada Review, Slant, Tipton Poetry Journal, The Worcester Review and World Literature Today, among many others.

His poem Dreamskimmer was highly commended by former UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy at the 2007 Poetry On The Lake Competition & Festival, Orta, Italy.

His third collection Straight Astray (Troubador, UK, 2005) received an honorable mention at the 2008 London Book Festival.

His flash fiction piece The Rag has been nominated for the 2020 Pushcart Prize by Nunum (Canada).
