Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway

The 33rd annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, sponsored by Murphy Writing of Stockton University, will be held from January 15, 2027, to January 18, 2027, at the Seaview Hotel near Atlantic City. The program offers small intensive workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as one-on-one tutorials, sunrise yoga, a book signing mixer, and open mic sessions. The faculty includes poets Jan Beatty, Jiordan Castle, R.G. Evans, Ysabel González, Luray Gross, Eugenia Leigh, Peter E. Murphy, Christine E. Salvatore, J.C. Todd, and Vincent Toro; fiction writers Tyrese L. Coleman, Marissa Johnson-Valenzuela, Nathaniel Popkin, and Hugo dos Santos; and creative nonfiction writers Dionne Ford, Sam Heaps, Anndee Hochman, and Catherine Pierce. Tuition, which includes meals, is offered on a sliding scale from $365 to $815 based on financial need; lodging is not included. The cost for a room and meal package is $505 for a double room, $750 for a single room, or $980 for a shared room with a non-participating guest. Additional workshop and feedback sessions are available for $95 to $135. Registration is first come, first served; applicants who register for lodging by November 20 receive a $30 discount.
