Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway

The 32nd annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, sponsored by Murphy Writing of Stockton University, was held from January 16, 2026, to January 19, 2026, at the Seaview Hotel near Atlantic City. The program offered small intensive workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as one-on-one tutorials, sunrise yoga, a book signing mixer, and open mic sessions. The faculty included poets Jan Beatty, Jiordan Castle, R.G. Evans, Roberto Carlos Garcia, Luray Gross, Le Hinton, Jason Mitchell, Peter E. Murphy, Christine E. Salvatore, J. C. Todd, and Gretna Wilkinson; fiction writers Marina Budhos, Roberta Clipper, Tyrese L. Coleman, Hugo dos Santos, and Nathaniel Popkin; and creative nonfiction writers Darla Himeles, Anndee Hochman, Mike Ingram, and Jane Wong. Tuition, which included meals, was offered on a sliding scale from $345 to $795 based on financial need; lodging is not included. The cost for a room and meal package was $475 for a double room, $715 for a single room, or $940 for a shared room with a non-participating guest. Additional workshop and feedback sessions were available for $95 to $125. Registration was first come, first served; applicants who registered for lodging by November 20 received a $30 discount.
