Other Features: 

The program is a sequential MA/MFA program; students must complete their MA degree at Wilkes before pursuing a MFA degree. The program offers degrees in screenwriting, playwriting, documentary film, and publishing, in addition to degrees in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.

Students can choose between two residency options. They can attend either two eight-day residencies each year, in January and June, or four weekend residencies each semester. All residencies take place at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

The application deadline to be considered for a graduate assistantship is December 1 for the January residency and May 1 for the June residency. The final application deadline is December 15 for the January residency and May 15 for the June residency.
