Funding/Employment Opportunities: 

The program offers full funding through five semesters of teaching appointments in English and Creative Writing, and one semester on a full fellowship. In addition to a living stipend, support includes tuition benefits, health insurance, and summer funding.

Our program cohosts an annual Agents & Editors week, in concert with the Michener Center for Writers, where our students meet one-on-one with agents and editors in their genre who have reviewed a sample of their work. Students can serve on the editorial board of Bat City Review and have access to the renowned Harry Ransom Center Archive and the UT Libraries System. Through our affiliation with the Michener Center for Writers, our students can also take Michener Center courses and attend speaker events, author Q&As, and professional development programming. Students are eligible to apply for the Keene Prize for Literature, given annually to a University of Texas student for a work of poetry, fiction, or nonfiction.
