Ulrica Hume

Ulrica Hume is the author of An Uncertain Age, a “wickedly sophisticated” spiritual mystery novel, which was longlisted for a Northern California Book Award. Her earlier work, House of Miracles, a collection of socially relevant tales, was a finalist for the D.H. Lawrence Fellowship; the title story was selected by PEN and broadcast on NPR. She has written about tearooms, reading rooms, the seven deadly sins, and how 9/11 changed religion in America for the San Francisco Examiner, Poets & Writers Magazine, The Bloomsbury Review, and The Huffington Post, respectively. Her fiction appears online at Barren Magazine, Cheap Pop, EcoTheo Review, Ellipsis Zine, Fanzine, Flash Flood’s National Flash Fiction Day (2019, 2021), HAD, Litro, Longleaf Review, Lunate, Micro podcast, Miramichi Flash, Moria, Necessary Fiction, Queen Mob’s Teahouse, RIC Journal, Short Édition, Splonk, The Centifictionist, The Cincinnati Review, The Delhi Walla, The Primer, Tiny Molecules, Unbroken, 100 Word Story, in the literary journals EcoTheo Review, Firmament, Little Patuxent Review, and Chicago Quarterly Review, and in the anthologies Things Left and Found by the Side of the Road (Ad Hoc Fiction), Nothing Short Of (Outpost19 Books), and Choice Words (Haymarket Books). She has taught scriptotherapy workshops in the UK, and was recently a guest speaker at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
