The program offers full funding. The program fully funds all admitted students at the in-state rate, as well as through teaching assistantships, part-time lectureships, Truman Capote Fellowships, and part-time positions in the Writing Center.

Other Features: 

The program hosts a visiting writers series, the Writers at Newark Reading Series, and the Chancellor's MFA Mentors Program with local Newark high schools. Other features include concentrations in cultural, political, and ethnic studies, literature and book arts, and performance and media studies.
