The program offers partial funding. The program offers competitive graduate assistantships that provide tuition remission for one class per semester, and merit awards for a 20 percent discount on tuition for qualified applicants. The program also provides grants for students to participate in conferences and retreats.
The program hosts monthly readings, craft and professional workshops, an annual publishing conference, and a poetry conference. The Rosemont Summer Writer’s Retreat and the International Writer’s Retreat offer students opportunities to earn workshop credits in a shorter period of time, both on the Rosemont campus and abroad. International retreats include locations such as Sicily, Greece, and Morocco.
For students following the prose track, the program offers concentrations in short fiction, novel writing, creative nonfiction, dramatic writing, and writing for children and young adults.
Students may take up to four years to complete the program.
