Readings & Workshops Highlights

Senior Writers Workshops

For twenty-two years, Readings & Workshops mini-grants have supported workshops for seniors at five centers in New York City. Check out this documentary look at a writing workshop for seniors at one venue, the Goddard Riverside Community Center, which Poets & Writers has funded since 2001.

Rural Libraries Tour

Mini-grants in California have supported the Rural Libraries Tour, which sends qualified writers to teach free creative writing workshops in rural libraries. Over the twenty-plus-year span of the tour, instructors have included Marisol Baca, Olga Garcia Echeverria, Tim Z. Hernandez, Larry Maurice, and Susan G. Wooldridge, as well as partnering organizations such as the California Center for the Book and over fifty public libraries.
