Penguin and Amazon.com recently partnered to create the Penguin Classics Reading Group, a regular online discussion of titles in the paperback line of Penguin Classics. Every six weeks, the reading group, which is open to the public, will discuss a book on a blog hosted by Amazon. In order to post a comment on a book, readers must sign in using a free Amazon account. The first book selected from the classics series, which includes approximately thirteen hundred titles, is Robertson Davies’s novel Fifth Business (2001).

The moderator of the reading group is Kathryn Gursky, a retired librarian who is one of the few people to have purchased a near-complete line of Penguin Classics from Amazon. The collection of 1,082 titles is available for almost eight thousand dollars.
