The 2023 Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference will be held from June 20 to June 25 in Minnesota’s Northwoods at Bemidji State University. The conference features workshops, craft talks, panels, an evening reading series, and manuscript consultations for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets and essayists Ross Gay, Keetje Kuipers, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, and Lia Purpura, and fiction and nonfiction writers Will Weaver and Diane Wilson. The 2023 Visiting Writers are poets Heid E. Erdrich and Sun Yung Shin. The cost of the conference, which includes a four-day intensive workshop, is $795 through April 1 and $875 thereafter. Half-hour manuscript consultations are available for an additional $100. An auditor option, which includes all conference events except a workshop, is available for $200. Workshops are limited to 12 participants; registration is first come, first served, beginning March 1. Housing on campus is available for $300 for six nights. Scholarships are available. Using only the online application system, submit 5 to 10 pages of poetry or 10 to 20 pages of prose by May 10. There is no application fee. Visit the website for more information.
