Author's Bio

Mary McMyne's debut poetry chapbook, WOLF SKIN (Dancing Girl Press, 2014), won the 2015 Elgin Chapbook Award. Her fiction has won the Faulkner Prize for a Novel in Progress, a Sustainable Arts Foundation Promise Award, and a National Endowment for the Arts Parent Fellowship to Vermont Studio Center. Additional support for her fiction and screenwriting has been awarded by the Marguerite McGlinn National Prize for Fiction, Louisiana State University, and New York University. Her stories, poems, and essays have appeared in Gulf Coast, Cimarron Review, Southern Humanities Review, Ninth Letter, Painted Bride Quarterly, The Chattahoochee Review, Los Angeles Review, Poetry International, Word Riot, and elsewhere. She lives in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, where she is an Associate Professor of English and co-editor of Border Crossing at Lake Superior State University. She is a certified National Writing Project teacher-consultant.
