Author's Bio

Kevin Marshall Chopson received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Murray State University and a B.A. in English Language and Philosophy from Eastern Michigan University. He has received four Pushcart Prize nominations. His poem "Portraiture" appeared in the Tennessee edition of The Southern Poetry Anthology published by Texas Review Press in 2013. This prestigious series is described by its editors as “a sixteen volume project celebrating established and emerging poets of the American South. The Southern Poetry Anthology aspires to provide readers with a documentary-like survey of the best poetry being written in the American South at the present moment." In addition to the journals listed below, Chopson's work is published or forthcoming in The Broad River Review, The Chaffin Journal, Incandescent, Tennessee English Journal,The Contributor (a homeless advocacy newspaper), and Nashville Arts Magazine. He teaches writing at Davidson Academy and Volunteer State Community College, both just north of Nashville, Tennessee.
