Author's Bio

I am a writer of prose -- both fiction and nonfiction -- with a background in freelancing as well as teaching. A book of fiction that I've been working on in one form or another has earned both the Louisiana Division of the Arts Artist Fellowship award (2003) and the Pirate's Alley Faulkner Society Gold Medal for the Novella (2010). My creative nonfiction has appeared in several journals, and I am proud to say that I am the author of two books of general nonfiction. I am currently working on a loose memoir about life during evacuation and early disaster recovery.
