The 2017 Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference was held from June 9 to June 13 at the Land's End Resort in Homer, Alaska. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as manuscript reviews, consultations with agents and editors, readings, and open mics. The faculty included poets Erin Coughlin Hollowell and Peggy Shumaker; fiction writers Brendan Jones and Nina McConigley; and creative nonfiction writers Richard Chiappone and Kate Carroll de Gutes. Fiction writer Jane Smiley delivered the keynote. The cost of the conference was $395 before May 1, $425 until June 8, and $450 on site, space permitting.
