The 21st annual Green Mountain Writers Conference was held from June 16 to July 20 at the lakeside Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, Vermont, located in the Green Mountain National Forest. The program featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as one-on-one consultations, lectures, publishing discussions, and readings. The faculty included poets Justen Ahren, Chard deNiord, Gary Margolis, Verandah Porche, and Kate Rushin; fiction writers T. Greenwood, Elizabeth Inness-Brown, and Stephen Kiernan; and creative nonfiction writers Chuck Clarino and Yvonne Daley. Tuition was $650 before June 1 and $675 thereafter. Lodging was not included; discounted rates were available at the Mountain Top Inn ($700 for four nights in a private room, which includes breakfast and lunch) and at area hotels and inns.
