The Bard MFA takes place over a total of two years and two months, with students in residence on the Bard College campus during three consecutive eight-week summers, and two sessions of independent work completed off campus in the intervening fall and spring semesters. Students work with faculty and students in writing as well as moving image, music and sound, painting, photography, and sculpture. Students meet one-on-one with faculty from all six disciplines, and conduct small-group interdisciplinary caucuses and school-wide critiques.
