This program partners with the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing which hosts the Distinguished Visiting Writers Series and the annual Desert Nights, Rising Stars conference. Additionally, the Piper Center offers students a variety of creative and global fellowship opportunities each year, including: teaching fellowships in Singapore; global residency fellowships to study and write abroad; one to two creative fellowships to provide summer funding for writing; and other generous forms of support that include teaching and travel scholarships.

Other features include the MFA Reading Series, opportunities to work with Four Way Books, Hayden Ferry Review, and to participate in community outreach activities such as teaching creative writing in prison.
