In 2008 Time magazine interviewed Tom Wolfe, who will be awarded the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters by the National Book Foundation at a ceremony in New York City on November 17. A film adaptation of Wolfe's 1968 book, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, directed by Gus Van Sant, is set to release in 2011.
