I am an American writer recently returned to the US after 10 years of living in Europe. My first book was the award-winning Collateral Damage, three linked novellas exploring the long-term effects of the Vietnam War. My second book, Under an English Heaven, launched the Ellie Kent mystery series, which has gained a popular following with over 370 reviews on Amazon. I have also published dozens of stories in journals such as Mississippi Review, America West, and Storyglossia. I have formerly taught writing for UC Berkeley Extension, the University of New Hampshire and the American School of Paris. I enjoy giving workshops and readings.

Amaranth Borsuk

Seattle, WA

A poet and scholar, Amaranth Borsuk’s work focuses on textual materiality—from the surface of the page to the surface of language. She is the author, most recently, of Pomegranate Eater (Kore Press, 2016), a collection of poems. Abra (1913 Press, 2016), a collaboration with Kate Durbin, received an NEA-sponsored Expanded Artists’ Books grant from the Center for Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College Chicago and was recently released as a limited-edition book with a free iPad / iPhone app created by Ian Hatcher. Her previous books are As We Know, an erasure collaboration with Andy Fitch; Between Page and Screen, a book of augmented reality poems created with programmer Brad Bouse; Handiwork, selected by Paul Hoover for the 2011 Slope Editions Poetry Prize; and Tonal Saw (The Song Cave, 2010), a chapbook. Other collaborative digital projects include an erasure bookmarklet, The Deletionist, with Nick Montfort and Jesper Juul, and Whispering Galleries, a site-specific LeapMotion erasure work for the city of New Haven. Borsuk received her Ph.D. in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Southern California and served as a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Humanities at MIT before joining the faculty of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington, Bothell, where she currently teaches in the MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics.
