The Washington Island Literary Festival, sponsored by Write On, Door County, was held from September 18 to September 20 at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center and other venues in Washington Island, Wisconsin. The festival featured workshops, panel discussions, author presentations, book signings, and a community creative lab for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Participating writers included poets Albert DeGenova, Alessandra Simmons Rolffs, and Heather Swan; fiction writers Nickolas Butler, Marianne Fons, Ann Heyse, Dionne Irving, and William Kent Krueger; and nonfiction writers Marcia Bjornerud and Paula Carter. The cost of the festival was $280. A single day pass was $125, and workshops were $80 each. The community creative lab was free. Space was limited; registration was first come, first served.
