Washington Island Literary Festival

The Washington Island Literary Festival, sponsored by Write On, Door County, was held from September 17 to September 19 at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center and other venues on Washington Island, Wisconsin. The festival features workshops, panel discussions, author presentations, book signings, and a community creative lab for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Participating writers included poets Albert DeGenova, Erika Meitner, and Alessandra Simmons Rolffs; fiction writers Anika Fajardo, Jane Hamilton, Naeem Murr, and Elizabeth Evans Sachs; and nonfiction writers Catherine Jagoe and Emily Small. The cost of the festival was $280. A single-day pass was $125, and workshops were $80 each. The community creative lab was free. Space was limited; registration was first come, first served.
