The Washington Island Literary Festival, sponsored by Write On, Door County, will be held from September 19 to September 21 at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center and other venues in Washington Island, Wisconsin. The festival features workshops, panel discussions, author presentations, and a community creative lab for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. The 2024 theme is “Come This Far.” Participating writers include poets Albert DeGenova and Nicholas Gulig; fiction writers Leif Enger, Marianne Fons, Maggie Ginsberg, and Julie Schumacher; and nonfiction writers Paula Carter, Kelcey Ervick, and Catherine Jagoe. The cost of the festival is $280. A single day pass is $125, and workshops are $80 each. The community creative lab is free. Space is limited; registration is first come, first served.
