The 2024 Writer’s Hotel Maine “Mini MFA” All-Genre Writers Conference will be held from June 5 to June 11 at the Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The conference features a full-manuscript pre-conference reading with two sets of editorial comments, workshops, and attendee and faculty readings. One-on-one agent pitching as well as pitching practice sessions will take place post-conference via Zoom on June 29. The faculty includes poets Richard Blanco, Julia Bouwsma, Wesley McNair, and Alexandra Oliver; fiction writers Jeffrey Ford, Elizabeth Hand, Shanna McNair, and Scott Wolven; fiction and nonfiction writer Lidia Yuknavitch; and nonfiction writers Susan Conley, Elyssa East, Mira Ptacin, and Debra Spark. The cost of the conference is $3,500. Lodging and meals are not included. To apply, writers submitted 15 pages of poetry or 5,000 words of prose and a cover letter with a $30 application fee by April 22. Visit the website for an application form and more information.
