The Lab Creative Writing Retreat

The 2025 Lab Creative Writing Retreat was held from June 14 to June 21 at the Son Sion villa in the village of Porreres, located on a Mediterranean island 30 minutes south of Mallorca, Spain. Programming included workshops, one-on-one meetings with authors and agents, and space and time to write for poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators. Participating faculty included poet, fiction writer, nonfiction writer, and editor Jill Bialosky (Norton); fiction writer and agent Victoria Skurnick (Levine Greenberg Rostan Literary Agency); and fiction and nonfiction writers Matthew Clark Davison and Alice LaPlante. Lodging was €2,800 (approximately $2,882) for a double room and €3,800 (approximately $3,911) for a single room; both options included a private bathroom and access to a yoga room, pool, and garden space.
