The 2018 Sonoma County Writers Camp for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers was held from August 1 to August 5, and from October 18 to October 22 at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center in Occidental, California, approximately 70 miles from San Francisco and Oakland. The retreat featured daily generative workshops, panels, readings, dinners with agents, editors, and guest authors, a welcome wine reception, and optional daily physical activities including yoga classes and guided hikes. The faculty included fiction writers Ellen Sussman and Elizabeth Stark. Participating publishing professionals included agents Jennifer Soloway (Andrea Brown Literary Agency), Andy Ross (Andy Ross Literary Agency), and Mary C. Moore (Kimberly Cameron and Associates). The cost of the retreat, which included lodging and all meals, ranged from $1,650 for lodging in a four-person yurt, to $1,850 for lodging in a double room in a guest house.
