The Spring 2023 Sonoma County Writers Camp was held from April 17 to April 21 at Bishops Ranch Retreat Center in Healdsburg, California. The retreat featured generative workshops in fiction and memoir, panels by authors and agents, master classes, meditative dream writing, and student readings. The faculty included fiction writer Ellen Sussman and fiction and nonfiction writer Elizabeth Stark. The cost of the retreat, which included all meals, lodging, and activities, was $2,195 for a double room and $2,495 for a single room. Registration was first come, first served. One fellowship covering full tuition will be offered to a BIPOC writer self-identifying as a woman or nonbinary; to apply, writers submitted an artist’s statement and a fiction or creative nonfiction writing sample of up to 1,000 words by February 1.
