Playa Flamingo Writing Residency in Costa Rica

The Playa Flamingo Writing Residency, sponsored by Atmosphere Press, offered two five-day residencies from May to August to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators at the Punta Plata condominium in Playa Flamingo, a white sand beach located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The residency featured space and time to write and an online reading in which residents presented their work. Residents were provided with a two-bedroom condo that included two bathrooms, a full kitchen, a patio, private beach access, and a shared outdoor pool. Residents were responsible for travel costs and meals. To apply, writers submitted a work sample of 5 to 10 pages, a résumé, and a cover letter by February 28. There was no application fee.
