The Ou Gallery’s Ou-telier program offers two- and four-week residencies starting on the 1st and 17th of every month year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators in a historic boatbuilding workshop in the Cowichan Valley/unceded Quw’utsun territory on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Residents are provided with a studio and a private bedroom in shared suites each equipped with a kitchen and bathroom. The cost of the residency is $1,250 Canadian (approximately $909) for a two-week stay and $2,500 Canadian (approximately $1,817) for a four-week stay. Residents are responsible for their travel and all meals. To apply, submit up to 10 pages of poetry, prose, or translation. Writing samples written in English, Spanish, and French are accepted.
