ART | WORK Retreat, sponsored by the 32M Center for Creative Work, offers one- to two-week residencies to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers from mid-May through mid-September in a nineteenth-century mill building on the banks of the Ashuelot river in New Hampshire. Writers have the option of scheduling critique or mentoring sessions with a partnering artist. The residency accommodates two visitors at a time. Each resident is provided with a private studio and bathroom, and a shared kitchen. Residents have access to a state park, a covered bridge, and nearby rail-trails. Fiction writers are eligible to apply to work in the second-floor mill workers’ room. Residents are responsible for transportation and all meals. The cost of the residency for the East Studio is $400 for five nights and $480 for six nights ($80 per extra night), and the West Studio is $450 for five nights and $540 for six nights ($90 per extra night). A work/help fellowship is available in exchange for helping to restore the property and land. To apply, submit a statement of purpose, a CV, a description of your project, and up to three writing samples. Applications are rolling starting April 18. Following these guidelines, fellowship applicants should submit two letters of reference with a $15 application fee by April 18. Visit the website for more information.

Accessibility accommodations include a moveable ramp to a side entrance (with advance request), accessible bathrooms, an accessible dining space, and accessible parking spaces. Contact the director via e-mail at julia@32mcenter.org for additional accessibility details.
