We host writing contests in fiction and poetry and welcome international submissions. We juxtapose tradition with experiment, the up-and-comer with the established writer, and create a new dialogue.

**The Writer’s Hotel NYC Writer’s Conference is the editorial arm of the New Guard. More info at www.writershotel.com and www.writershotelweekends.com. We support writers in practice and in print. Write better, publish smarter. Get inspired.

The New Guard Vol. X contest judges TNG Editors Shanna McNair and Scott Wolven, judging both contests. Contest rules: Machigonne Fiction Contest: 5,000 words max, any genre. Knightville Poetry Contest: 150 lines max, any form. Winners in Poetry and Fiction each get a $1,500 prize and publication. Finalists are also published. Final judging is blind. We pay strict attention to word and line count. Unpublished work only. Simultaneous submissions accepted. Fee is $22 per entry.  Deadline is January 11, 2021. Our online segment, BANG! is open for submissions year-round. BANG! is a showcase for very short work. Submit: www.newguardreview.com/bang. All other material is published in print, only in The New Guard.
