Tips From the Editor:

WWPH is a diverse, inclusive, collaborative literary press staffed entirely by volunteers and so winning authors are also expected to become active members working in book production, design, promotion, editing, and judges for a minimum of two years. WWPH manuscript prizes include honorarium, publication, twenty-five author copies, editorial guidance, and launch promotional support. WWPH also publishes a biweekly online literary journal, WWPH Writes, which spotlights work from a poet and prose writer in each issue. This biweekly publication is free to submit and subscribe to—and will give writers insight into our literary sensibility. More details on WWPH Writes on our website at www.washingtonwriters.org [4].

Their annual contests will re-open in 2025 for manuscript-length submissions of poetry, fiction, and works in translation. Writers must be residents of DC, Maryland, or Virginia to submit.
