JoAnn Balingit

Author's Bio

JoAnn Balingit was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Lakeland, Florida. She is a poet and fiction writer, appointed Delaware's poet laureate in 2008. She was educated at Florida State, University of California, Irvine and Indiana University. She received a Doctorate in Education from the University of Delaware, and teaches poetry for schools and community organizations. For grade 7 - 12 students, she directs the Delaware Writing Region of Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. JoAnn is an Assistant Editor at YesYes Books and an editor at Delaware Poetry Review.
