Author's Bio

Grace Bauer's books of poems include Nowhere All At Once (Stephen F. Austin University Press) Retreats & Recognitions (Lost Horse Press), Beholding Eye (Custom Words), and The Women At The Well (Portals Press), as well as four chapbooks -- most recently, Café Culture, from Imaginary Friend Press. She is also co-editor of the anthology, Umpteen Ways Of Looking At A Possum: Critical And Creative Responses To Everette Maddox. Her poems, essays, and stories have appeared in numerous anthologies and journals, including Colorado Review, Georgia Review, New Madrid, Ploughshares, Poetry, Rattle and many others. Grace teaches in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she has been awarded the Sorenson Award for Distinguished Teaching in the Humanities. She has also taught writing workshops at the Nebraska Summer Writers Conference and been a Visiting Writer at more than a dozen universities. Grace is a Senior Reader for the journal, Prairie Schooner, and the Prairie Schooner Book Prize Competition. She is currently working on a new book of poems and a collection of inter-linked essays.
