Cynthia Manick was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a BA from Hollins University in English and Philosophy and a MFA from the New School. She has received fellowships from Cave Canem, The Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts & Sciences, Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop, Hedgebrook, and the Vermont Studio Center. She is co-founder of The Good Times Collective, East Coast Editor of Jamii Publshing, and Curator for the Soul Sister Revue, a reading series for emerging and established poets in NYC.
