Funding/Employment Opportunities: 

The program offers full funding. All students receive full teaching assistantships. The program also offers several merit-based annual awards, including the Hemingway Fellowship in fiction, Writing in the Wild Fellowships, Centrum Fellowships, Hogue Family Scholarships, David Scholarships, and Grace Nixon Scholarships.

Other Features: 

The program offers intensive workshops, traditions seminars, and techniques studios in poetry, nonfiction, fiction, and hybrid forms. The faculty is made up of teaching artists, working writers who publish in multiple genres. The community is close and supportive. The program also invites several notable writers to campus each year through its Distinguished Visiting Writers Series. Among the fellowships offered, Writing in the Wild retreats send students and their writing projects to research stations deep in the Northwest’s mountain wilderness areas.
