La Baldi Residency [1]
The La Baldi Residency, sponsored by the arts collective Cultivate, will offer two-week and one-month residencies from April through October to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators in apartments and a small terratetto house in the historic hilltop village of Montegiovi, Italy. Residents will stay in private lodging with a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and an outside sitting area. Some lodging options include a study. Individual writers and collaborative teams may apply. The cost of the residency is €900 (approximately $926) for two weeks or €1,500 (approximately $1,544) for one month for one writer, €1,300 (approximately $1,338) for two weeks or €2,200 (approximately $2,264) for one month for a collaborative duo, and €1,700 (approximately $1,750) for two weeks or €2,900 (approximately $2,985) for one month for a collaborative team of three. To apply, submit up to 10 pages of poetry, up to 20 pages of prose, or 10 to 20 pages of translation (including both the original text and the translation); a brief bio; a résumé or curriculum vitae; a list of publications; and an artist statement by May 1.
