Rebecca Pyle is a writer of stories, poetry, essays, and reviews appearing over the past decade in many art/literary journals--mainly journals created in the United States, but also journals created in Hong Kong, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Belgium, India, England, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.

Rebecca Pyle is a visual artist, also (paintings, drawings, photographs).

Fiction by Rebecca Pyle has been nominated for both the Best of the Net and the Pushcart prize.

While an art, lit, and creative writing student at The University of Kansas she entered three writing competitions, their William Herbert Carruth competition (poetry), the Wolfe competition (fiction), and the Whitcombe competition (also fiction), and won three first prizes.

During a year living and working in the U.K., her poetry was named the runner-up to Irish poet and overall winner Medbhe McGuckian's poetry in the United Kingdom's National Poetry Competition (co-sponsored by The Poetry Society and BBC2).  Over the past decade her work has been longlisted or shortlisted in many writing competitions; creative nonfiction by her has won both The Los Angeles Review's creative nonfiction award and The Miracle Monocle's (University of Louisville) hybrid writing award. Her collected writing includes her poetry chapbook The American Underwater Songbook (Underwater New York, 2018).
