Liz Prato is the author of the books Kids in America: A Gen X Reckoning (SFWP, June 2022); Volcanoes, Palm Trees, and Privilege: Essays on Hawai‘i (Overcup Press, April 2019, a New York Times Top Summer Read and Finalist for the Oregon Book Award in 2019; and Baby’s on Fire: Stories (Press 53, 2015). She is also the editor of The Night, and the Rain, and the River: 22 Stories (Forest Avenue Press, 2014).
 

Liz's work has appeared in over three dozen publications, including McSweeney's, The Rumpus, Carolina Quarterly, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Salon, Subtropics, and ZYZZYVA. Her work has been chosen as Notable Selections in both Best American Essays and Best American Sports Writing.
