A prize of $1,000 and publication on the journal’s website is given annually for a short story. The winner, two runners-up, and seven finalists are considered for representation by Aitken Alexander Associates, Barer Literary, the Elaine Markson Literary Agency, the Georges Borchardt Literary Agency, the Gernert Company, Inkwell Management, International Creative Management, Regal Literary, Sterling Lord Literistic, and William Morris Endeavor. Jim Shepard will judge. Submit a story of up to 5,000 words with a $15 entry fee by October 3. Visit the website for complete guidelines.
