englishgrad@vcu.edu A prize of $5,000 is given annually for a first novel published in the previous year. The winner also receives an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the First Novelist Festival at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. For books published between July 1 and December 31, 2011, submit three copies by January 15, 2012. There is no entry fee. Call, e-mail, or visit the website for complete guidelines.
