Author's Bio

<p>James Arthur's poetry has appeared in <i>The New Yorker</i>, <i>The New Republic</i>, <i>Poetry</i>, <i>Ploughshares</i>, <i>The Southern Review</i>, and <i>Narrative</i>. He has received the Amy Lowell Travelling Poetry Scholarship, a Wallace Stegner Fellowship, and a Discovery/<i>The Nation</i> Prize, as well as residencies at Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony, and the Anderson Center. His first book, <i>Charms Against Lightning</i>, will be published next year by Copper Canyon Press. </p><p>James is currently in residence at the Amy Clampitt House in Lenox, MA. During the 2012-2013 academic year, he will be a Hodder Fellow at Princeton University.</p>
