Lawrence Schimel

I'm a full-time author (in both Spanish and English), anthologist, and translator (Spanish into English). I also run the independent poetry press A Midsummer Night's Press. My writing has been translated into Basque, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish, Turkish, and Ukrainian. I've given lectures, talks, or workshops at many conferences, such as Bread Loaf or the Melbourne Writers Festival, and at universities such as Princeton, Yale, Wayne State, Rutgers, University of Cádiz, etc. Some authors (of poetry or short stories) I've translated into English include Luis Armenta Malpica, Jeannette L. Clariond, Vicente Molina Foix, Jordi Doce, Care Santos, Luis Antonio de Villena, Ana Lidia Vega Serova, Jesus Encinar, Luis Cremades, Sofia Rhei, Suzana Guzner, etc.
