Author's Bio

Debra Di Blasi is author of What the Body Requires, The Jiri Chronicles & Other Fictions, Drought & Say What You Like, Prayers of an Accidental Nature, and Ugly Town: the movie. She has published over 100 stories, essays, articles and reviews. Her innovative fiction is increasingly anthologized, and her visual art is represented by Unit 5 Gallery. Screenwriting credits include The Walking Wounded, finalist in the 1996 Austin Screenwriters Competition; and Drought, winner of a Cinovation Screenwriting Award. The short film, Drought appeared at the 2000 Cannes International Film Festival. Debra is publisher at Jaded Ibis Press, an imprint of Jaded Ibis Productions that produces the innovative literature and arts channel BLEED and The Jirí Chronicles, a mélange of over 500 fictive audio interviews and music, videos, print, web sites, visual art works, and ironic consumer products.
