Author's Bio

Bernadette Geyer is the author of the full-length poetry collection The Scabbard of Her Throat (The Word Works, 2013) and editor of My Cruel Invention: A Contemporary Poetry Anthology (Meerkat Press, 2015). Her work has appeared in 2015 Poet's Market, Fourteen Hills, Oxford American, Poet Lore, and elsewhere. She lives in Berlin, Germany, where she works as a writer, editor, and translator, and leads online workshops.

Prizes Won: 
In 2012, Geyer's manuscript was selected by Cornelius Eady for publication by The Word Works. Recipient of a 2010 Strauss Fellowship from the Arts Council of Fairfax County (Virginia). Moving Words Poetry Prize (2000, 2004, 2007). Geyer was a Jenny McKean Moore Scholar at The George Washington University in 2004 & 2005.
