I have published 3 poetry books: Exodus (WordTech Editions, 2013), Folk Concert: Changing Times (Anaphora Literary Press, 2012), and Traffic Stop (Finishing Line Press, 2011). I have a Ph.D. in English from the University of Chicago. I am president of the Michigan College English Association. I co-founded Primavera, an award-winning literary journal. The University of Missouri Press published my scholarly book, Coleridge, Lamb, Hazlitt, and the Reader of Drama (1990). My creative nonfiction essay “Returning to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin” appeared in Midwestern Miscellany (2008). My play The Cell Phone won fourth place in a national contest and was performed at the Fenton Village Players One Act Play Festival in June, 2011, in Fenton, Michigan. I have also published The Passover Surprise (Fictive Press, 2015). My picture book about bullying for children, How the Moon Regained Her Shape (Arbordale, 2006), has won four national awards.
