I attended the University of California, Berkeley, as an undergraduate, and completed an MA in creative writing at the City University of New York.I have studied with Thom Gunn, June Jordan, Larry Carr, Bram Lewis, and Kurt Brown, and currently am studying with Ellen Bass and Danusha Lameris.
My poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Boston Review, Jewish Women's Literary Annual, Crack the Spine and Crack the Spine Spring 2015 Anthology, decomP, Forge, Ginosko, Amarillo Bay, Word Riot, Soul-Lit, Sukoon, Jet Fuel Review, and Caveat Lector.
In following my lifelong interests in dance, movement, and the performing arts, I could often be found at Art Garden, a performing literary magazine, until its demise in 2012. My one-act plays have been produced in festivals in New York and Washington, D.C.
As an owner of a marketing firm and a startup company that turns organic waste into energy through green technology, I divide my time between New York and California, with occasional trips to Europe and the Middle East. I enjoy hiking, particularly in California, and am an avid swimmer: I have swum across the Hudson River, from Newburgh to Beacon, on several occasions.
