Author's Bio

Among my twenty-some books and chapbooks, my newest collection is *The Resonance Around Us* (Mountains & Rivers Press, 2013). Other recent books include *One Bowl*, a 2012 prizewinning e-chapbook (Snapshot Press: http://www.snapshotpress.co.uk/ebooks/One_Bowl.pdf; *Recycling Starlight* (Mountains & Rivers Press, 2010. A cycle of grief poems processing the loss of my husband, William J. Higginson, in October of 2008.); and *The Night Marsh* (WordTech Editions, 2008). With my late husband, William J. Higginson, I co-authored *The Haiku Handbook* (25th Anniversary Edition, 2010), and my children’s alphabestiary, *The Beastie Book*, came out in December, 2009. Recent work appears in both print and on-line journals, including Adanna, Persimmon Tree, Pirene’s Fountain, Tatoo Highway, Rattle, Rose Red, The Quotable, Tiferet, and in anthologies including *Facing the Change* (Torrey House Press, 2013); *Forgetting Home:Poems About Alzheimer’s* (Barefoot Muse Press, 2013); *The Heart of All That Is: Reflections on Home* ( Holy Cow Press, 2013); *The Best of the Barefoot Muse* (2012); The Crafty Poet (Wind Publications, 2013), and in a craft lesson in *Wingbeats* (Dos Gatos Press, 2011). Publications and Prizes

Prizes Won: 
Three poetry fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts; the Mary Carolyn Davies Award from the Poetry Society of America; the William O. Douglas Nature Writing Award for poems in "American Nature Writing, 2002"; and two fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA)for residencies in January 2011 and March 2015.
