Founded in 1968, Beyond Baroque Literary/Arts Center is located in the Old Town Hall in Venice, California, near the Pacific Ocean. Programs include readings and free workshops. The space also houses a bookstore and, since 1998, Beyond Baroque Books, an imprint dedicated to publishing emerging, overlooked, out-of-print, and experimental poetry, especially written by Los Angeles–based writers.
