Minerva Rising

Minerva Rising is an independent literary journal celebrating the creativity and wisdom in every woman. We publish thought-provoking fiction, non-fiction, photography, poetry and essays by women writers and artists. Minerva Rising has grown out of a love of literature and the knowledge that when women come together, we flourish. Just as the Goddess Minerva represented creativity, wisdom, medicine, commerce, arts and education, our journal provides the opportunity for and the evidence of that bounty.

Miniature Magazine

Great things can come in the smallest packages. Puppies. Life-creating microscopic organisms. Gum. The list goes on and on… Miniature Magazine is a quarterly online magazine dedicated to creating a platform for writing that isn’t undermined or jeopardized by its small stature. We aim to publish writing that makes the most of being what some might call miniature. In addition to fiction, poetry, essays and prose, we also publish art and illustration. All written content falls near or under the 1,500-word range, showing how much can be done with a little.

The Missing Slate

The Missing Slate is an online art and literary journal with roots in Pakistan and an international editorial team. The magazine aims both to promote new writing from across the world to a South Asian audience and to promote new writing from South Asia to an audience across the world. We are not afraid to publish material that would be considered ‘taboo’ by similar magazines, and we aim to include previously unpublished writers in every issue. As a non-profit organisation, we continue to rely on the support of a global network of readers and contributors.

Mission at Tenth

Our mission is to publish innovative work by emerging and established writers and artists with material that tests the boundaries of the page and taps into the energetic culture (emotional, intellectual, civic) radiating from San Francisco, the Pacific Rim and beyond. We are most particularly drawn to experiments in form or language, to works that arouse and expand concepts of self-awareness, surprise, humor, anger, honesty, spiritual inquiry and political thought.

The Missouri Review

Since 1978, The Missouri Review has held a reputation for finding and publishing the very best writers first. We are based at the University of Missouri and publish four issues each year. Each issue contains new fiction, poetry and essays. We also run author interviews and found-text features where we print never before published works such as a short story by William Faulkner or one of Tennessee Williams' plays. Our annual contest is the Editors' Prize, which awards $5000 and publication in each category for a group of poems, a short story, and an essay.
