The dean’s office at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), is seeking a versatile and experienced writer/editor to produce well-written, informed, and highly polished communications for the dean. The writer will work closely with the dean to understand the strategic direction of the School and to research, write, and edit a variety of communications including, but not limited to, content for presentations; highly personalized correspondence; proposal letters; speeches; comments for dedication and award ceremonies; announcements; concept papers; documents and introductory materials for official reports such as academic and strategic plans, the budget, etc.; talking points; remarks; social media; and other special projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or English and 3 years' experience writing for a senior-level executive in a university or non-profit organization or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or English is preferred. The successful candidate will have the ability to master the voice of the dean and the brand. A proven track record of developing and writing both long and short pieces on deadline is required, as well as exceptional writing, copyediting, concept ideation, researching, and proofreading skills, with an eye and ear for detail and continuity.
