The Writer must be an experienced, poetic writer who can write about a wide range of subjects with sophistication and wit and can adapt to different writing styles. The writer must be proficient in trends in art and design, and current ideas in higher education; proofread and edit with speed and alacrity; capture the voice of the SCAD president quickly and accurately; respond to feedback with positivity and eagerness. A graduate degree in creative writing or related field is preferred.

Please submit two writing samples that demonstrate the ability to write with wit, warmth, and intelligence. Writing samples may include letters or speeches drafted for an executive, essays, and exhibition catalog, etc. No university-related essay or theses, please. Preferred candidates will also be able to demonstrate:

• A track record of creative, strategic thinking

• A track record of quality writing

• A sense of calm in high-pressure situation
