The 30th annual Write on the Sound Writers Conference was held from October 2 to October 4 at the Frances Anderson Center in the waterfront town of Edmonds, Washington. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as manuscript consultations, discussions, readings, and a book signing. The faculty included poets Laura Read and Maya Jewell Zeller; fiction writers Q Lindsey Barrett, Scott Driscoll, Robert Dugoni, Elena Hartwell, Nick O’Connell, Michael Schein, Roger Weston, and Eric Witchey; and creative nonfiction writers Christine Dubois, Claire Gebben, Jennifer D. Munro, and Sylvia Taylor. Guest speakers include fiction writer Stella Cameron and creative nonfiction writer Rick Steves. The cost of the conference was $145 before August 31 and $160 thereafter. Pre-conference workshops were $125 for the full day and $77 for half a day. Manuscript consultations with fiction writer Scott Driscoll were available for an additional $37.
