The 29th annual Write on the Sound Writers’ Conference was held from October 3 to October 5 in the waterfront town of Edmonds, Washington. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as one-on-one manuscript critiques and book signings. The faculty included poet Holly Hughes, fiction writers Larry Brooks and Jim Lynch, and creative nonfiction writers Pam Binder, Clare Hodgson Meeker, and Ingrid Ricks. The cost of the conference was $140 before August 29, and $155 thereafter. Preconference sessions were $125 for the full day and $75 for half a day. Manuscript consultations with nonfiction writer and playwright Bill Johnson were available for an additional $35. Registration was first come, first served.
