My poems have appeared in Poetry, The Paris Review, The Georgia Review, TriQuarterly, Ninth Letter, The Southern Review, Shenandoah, Open City, Tin House, Poetry Daily; and other journals, anthologies, and websites. My critical essays on the craft of poetry have appeared in The Yale Review, Kenyon Review, and American Poetry Review. I have a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia, and teach creative writing and modern poetry at Texas Tech University.
